Nurture the earth to deserve the best it can give, with attention to detail and respect for its distinguishing characteristics and timings – this is our vision and the basis of the joint work of the team led by Rita Cardoso Pinto. The excellence we aspire to, valuing the knowledge and experience of each team member, is the daily inspiration of our project. António Afonso Lasso de la Vega Cardoso Pinto, the owner, is coordinator of the winemaking project at Quinta do Pinto. Rita relies on the regular support of about fifteen collaborators, including Ana, her sister, working as a closely knit team committed to making wines of increasingly higher quality which are a reliable expression of the terroir. Every year, during harvest, Quinta do Pinto welcomes a ranch of local women who carry out a work of great detail and accuracy with great dedication.
Rita Cardoso Pinto
Rita is Quinta do Pinto’s Project Leader and Property Manager. In addition, Rita is also in charge of wine exports to Europe, Brazil and Asia. Rita took a Master’s Degree in Management at the Catholic University of Lisbon and she attended a Master’s degree in Oenology at the University of Lisbon Institute of Agronomy (ISA). After graduating and before full-time dedication to winemaking, she worked for Unilever – ‘a great school’, she says – and Panrico, having been Product manager in both multinationals.
Ana Cardoso Pinto
Ana first studied Wine Marketing at UCDavis, followed by intensive wine tasting courses at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, Greystone - Sta Helena, Napa Valley. Ana, an architect, finished her studies in Florence and went on to work for several years in Barcelona, in a renowned architect studio. She is Export Manager for the Anglo-Saxon markets, which she combines with her work as an architect. To her, making known the Quinta do Pinto wines is one of her most challenging and rewarding works.
